Kodista (Of Home, Homing)

by Sanna Salán

KODISTA (Of Home, Homing) is a durational performance piece and an audience participatory interactive installation. It addresses the concept of home as a fragmented reality, of how I have discovered that home, for me, consists of abstracts rather than material. As well as sharing my personal experiences, the piece opens the floor for all participants to share their own thoughts on the questions: What is home? What does home mean to you? Where do you travel in your mind when you think about home? Is it beautiful? Peaceful? Painful?

This piece was first created as my Master’s Thesis at Rose Bruford College, London. For more information see the documentation of the research. Since then, I have performed it with LAPER in their ‘Audience Participation’ -event in London, (February 2025) and at The Camden Fringe, London (August 2025).
